Is vinegar good for washing windows?

Vinegar can work for light window cleaning, but at GoldenHome Window Cleaning, we don't typically use it, especially for high-end glass and finishes. While it does cut some mineral deposits and fingerprints, its strong smell and acidic nature can be unpleasant for people and rough on some surfaces over time. We trust a mild dish soap solution instead because it's gentler, more effective on greasy spots, and easier to rinse clean. In our experience, vinegar also doesn't glide as well under a squeegee, which can lead to streaks if you're not very careful. For luxury homes and professional spaces in Topeka, we've found a dish soap-based solution is usually the better option, and that's what we use.
